The founder Wong Kai Un is a Vietnamese Chinese who started cooking for his clansmen in a small scale in 2008. After twelve years of ups and downs, the once takeaway stall has grown into today’s size with an insistence on using food ingredients imported from Viet Nam, with no exception for sweet sauce, fish sauce, and even soy sauce. Therefore, there is no need to travel to Viet Nam for the Vietnamese flavour, as it is in Pho Viet Nam. The signature Pho Bo, which features a densely savoury soup base made of beef shanks and bones, has a multi-layered flavour and longstanding aftertaste. The bouncy, refreshing and tender Goi Cuon (Cold Spring Rolls), another signature, features pieces of chewy Vietnamese rice paper wrappings stuffed with solid fillings. Com Suon Nuong (Rice with Lemongrass-Grilled Pork Chops) is what the first ever customers to the eatery ordered. The scene of those customers enjoying the dish with laughter and satisfaction still touches the bottom of Mr. Wong’s heart, so he has kept this item up till now.
