Novel cha chaan teng

Established by its several owners, Estabelecimento de Comidas Tap Toi (hereafter Tap Toi) has been in business since 2017. Ms. Sou, one of the owners, noted that they are all fans of traditional cha chaan teng culture and want to promote the culture to more youngsters. The name Tap Toi (which means “table sharing” in Cantonese) came to their minds during an occasion when they witnessed a table-sharing scene while they were having a discussion. In addition, the Cantonese term “tap toi” is more familiar and local to people in Macao. These are the reasons they adopted this name. Tap Toi has also changed many traditional dishes by adding more novel pairings. An example is Instant Noodles Mixed with Scallion Oil Chicken Chop. Such a novel combination has drawn the attention and appeal of many youngsters. Tap Toi is also committed to training its staff for communicating with customers with an enthusiastic attitude so as to make every customer feel like home when being in the restaurant. It is exactly such philosophy and attitude that win the appeal of youngsters and neighbours and makes the restaurant stand out among the peers.
