1. Are all enterprises allowed to use the Cargo Transfer Terminal?
    The Cargo Transfer Terminal provides transfer services for cargo between Hong Kong and Macao, so both Hong Kong and Macao logistics enterprises may use its services.
  2. Can enterprises that wish to use the Cargo Transfer Terminal send vehicles to the Terminal anytime for unloading or pick-up?
    Enterprises that wish to use the Cargo Transfer Terminal must first register as a user, register their goods vehicles and drivers in the system and make bookings afterwards. Before registering, Hong Kong enterprise users must first obtain the qualification for their Hong Kong goods vehicles and drivers to go to Macao via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) to engage in the relevant activities (please visit the Transport Bureau for details).
    In addition, the Cargo Transfer Terminal does not retain any cargo. Any cargo that has not been transported out of or abandoned in the Cargo Transfer Terminal will be considered as discarded articles and handled as waste by the operator entity. The enterprise concerned shall bear the relevant handling fees, as well as be subject to, if applicable, criminal or civil liability.
  3. What services does the Cargo Transfer Terminal provide?
    The Cargo Transfer Terminal provides container transfer service (which is lifting of containers), as well as bulk cargo transfer service (which is cargo handling).
  4. Are all cargo allowed to be transferred through the Cargo Transfer Terminal?
    The transfer services apply to all cargo, except for dangerous cargo1 (flammable substances, dangerous chemicals, etc.), weapons and other articles prohibited from importing into the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR).
  5. Are there fees charged for using the Cargo Transfer Terminal's services?
    Services offered by the Cargo Transfer Terminal are subject to fees. Please refer to the relevant Chief Executive's Decision for details. The fees shall all be borne by the Initiators and are not refundable.
  6. What is Odd-shaped cargo?
    Odd-shaped cargo means cargo of which the outer packaging is not cubic or cuboid.
  7. Does the Cargo Transfer Terminal provide customs declaration, customs clearance or health/plant quarantine services?
    The Cargo Transfer Terminal only provides lifting services and bulk cargo handling services for Hong Kong and Macao land freight vehicles, with no customs declaration, customs clearance or health/plant quarantine services available. Please visit the Macao Customs Post (Cargo) at the HZMB for customs declaration and clearance formalities. For health/plant quarantine, please contact the Municipal Affairs Bureau.

  1. How to register as a user?
    To register as a user, visit the following webpage: www.ptmt.gov.mo, provide an e-mail address or a mobile phone number as the user name, and fill in basic information (including goods vehicle's plate number, driver's driving licence number, etc.) according to the instructions shown in the Booking System. Enterprises can register more than one user account as needed, but the same user name cannot be used for multiple accounts.
  2. What documents are required during application?
    No documents are required.
  3. Are there any requirements for registering goods vehicles and drivers?
    Before using the Cargo Transfer Terminal and registering as a user at the booking system, Hong Kong logistics enterprises must obtain the qualification for their Hong Kong goods vehicles and drivers to go to Macao via the HZMB to engage in the relevant activities; Macao logistics enterprises or goods vehicles are required to have already made a declaration of business tax in the MSAR to carry out logistics-related activities.
  1. Is there any specific time frame for completing the steps when making a booking?
    Yes. The steps of booking are as follows:
    1. The Initiator logs in to the booking system, selects the service and intended session, etc., fills in the Respondent(s)’ user name(s) (e-mail address or mobile phone number) and cargo information, etc., and sends the Booking Request to the Respondent(s).
    2. Upon receiving the Booking Request, the Respondent logs in to the Booking System:
      ✔ To confirm the Booking Request, select the goods vehicle and driver; if there is cargo to be handed over, fill in the information of the cargo.
      ✖ To decline the Booking Request, select Decline.
    3. If the Booking Request is confirmed, the Initiator will receive a Payment Advice and is required to make payment.
    4. Both the Initiator and Respondent(s) will receive a Notification of Successful Booking.
  2. Can a booking be cancelled?
    The Initiator can cancel a booking not less than 30 minutes before the start of the booked session. Having confirmed a Booking Request, the Respondent may only consuit with the Initiator directly for the latter to cancel a booking. A user of any side who fails to arrive at the Cargo Transfer Terminal within the booked session will be considered as a No-Show.
  3. What information may be amended after a successful booking?
    The Initiator and the Respondent(s) may amend the information of goods vehicle, driver or cargo not less than 30 minutes before the start of the booked session.
    Initiators may select another Respondent or other Respondents not less than 1 hour before the start of the booked session.
