Since 2023, the DSEDT has been organizing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) Study Tour for Portuguese-Speaking Country Science and Technology Innovation Enterprises, enabling technology enterprises from Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs) to gain firsthand understanding of the current situation and opportunities in Macao, Hengqin, and the GBA through on-site visits, creating opportunities for face-to-face connection and negotiation talks with Mainland and international investors, facilitating more cooperation, and leveraging Macao's role as a platform between China and PSCs.

Participant organizations of the 2025 study tour included 12 incubators, tertiary institutions and associations from Brazil and Portugal, along with 12 Brazilian and Portuguese technology and innovation enterprises. In addition to on-site visits to GBA technology enterprises, venture capital funds, tertiary institutions, and government departments, the participating Brazilian and Portuguese technology enterprises were also arranged to set up exhibitions at the Global Artificial Intelligence Machines and Electronics Expo (AIE) held in Macao. With the assistance of local departments, they conducted seminars and roadshows in Guangzhou and Hengqin, connecting with investors, research institutions, and enterprise representatives, thereby further deepening technology exchange and cooperation between China and PSCs and promoting outstanding Brazilian and Portuguese technology innovation enterprises to establish operations in Macao and the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
